Newent Cycling Group aims to encourage people in our area to have access to
safe cycling and good cycle facilities. We campaign to enable this to happen by
engaging with our local councils, businesses, educational institutions, cycling
clubs, sports clubs and other charities promoting health and well-being.

Current campaigning:

The Newent – Gloucester Cycleway

The B4215 route between Newent and Gloucester is a treacherous road for all but the most seasoned cyclists. The proposed route offers a safe and accessible alternative by creating two crucial links to existing signposted quiet lanes and cycling infrastructure.

Oxenhall Lane Ford

We are campaigning for a safe way to cross the stream at the ford to allow cyclists to use this delightful route for travelling west of Newent. The background to this campaign and the current situation can be found here.

Successes:

The Newent Loop is a 28 mile circular ride exploring the lanes of north west Gloucestershire funded by Active Together, Gloucestershire County Council and supported by freedomleisure Newent.
